Every year on 15 July, World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) celebrates the importance of equipping young people with the skills they need for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship. Under the theme "Skills for a shared future", this year’s WYSD events will focus on the need to develop innovative youth skills programmes that prepare young people to participate in digital, AI-driven and green economies, where they can lead with empathy, communicate across cultures, build resilience and contribute to a more inclusive and peaceful future.
To mark WYSD 2026, UNESCO-UNEVOC invites UNEVOC Network members to get involved in the following ways:
- Participate in the webinar scheduled for Wednesday 15 July 2026, 10:00 to 12:30. The webinar will bring together governments, educators, employers, youth networks and young people themselves to address one question:
"What will it take to equip every young person with the competencies they need to thrive in a shared future?"
Webinar registration.
- WYSD Youth Survey: Circulate and encourage youth aged 19 to 35 years to share their perspective by participating in the World Youth Skills Day 2026 Youth Survey. Deadline: 7 July 2026.
