Convergence is a dynamic showcase of creative output by senior students in the Visual Multimedia Arts (VMA) programmes. Bringing together the work of VMA Honours students and final-level BA VMA students. The exhibition highlights a wide range of artistic practices and critical engagements that reflect on personal experiences, social realities, and collective concerns.
The title of the exhibition, Convergence, denotes a shift in ideas, paths, and physical objects that eventually meet at a single point. It directs attention to the manner in which beliefs, opinions, and perspectives can be challenged, and how visual inquiry can contest the fixed ways of thinking. Convergence further takes audiences on a journey of growth of the VMA students represented through thoughtful and innovative artworks that reflect the students' exploration towards the creation of new ways of understanding the world around us.
The exhibition will be officially opened by Dr Daniel Mosako, Acting COD of the Department of Art and Music, alongside Dr Ania Krajewska, Senior Lecturer and Coordinator of the VMA Honours Programme, and Mr Andrew Smith, Lecturer and Coordinator of the Third-Level BA VMA Programme. Their participation underscores the Department's commitment to nurturing artistic innovation and supporting the next generation of creative practitioners.
