Western Cape Regional SRC commits to ethics at Unisa

On 25 August 2022, the Unisa Ethics Management Division, in collaboration with the Department of Student Affairs, held an ethics training workshop for the Western Cape Regional SRC at the Cape Town Campus.

The purpose of the Ethics Training was to raise awareness about the ethical duty and the significance of ethical and effective Student Representative Council (SRC) leadership. During this session, the Western Cape Regional SRC members were tasked with developing individual ethics pledges. Following the training, the regional SRC members were tasked with consolidating their collective pledges, as the Western Cape Regional SRC in committing to the Institutional Ethics Drive. Their ethics pledge is narrated verbatim below the image.

“We, as the Western Cape regional student representative council, commit ourselves to communicate student-centeredness issues with integrity and to be innovative in seeking excellence. We commit to working in collegiality, cooperation and courage with the university management to advance the Unisa community towards its creative extremes. We pledge to take part in caring for all stakeholders within the institution, and conserve a conducive space for impartiality, respect and discipline from and towards everyone under the institutional fraternity. We will practice humanity in everything that we commit ourselves to doing”.
