Update: applications, registrations, study material and assignment 1 deadlines

I applied for admission in 2018. When can I register?

Applicants who applied for admission during the extended application period in 2018 and who received confirmation that their application has been accepted may register for the 2018 academic year from 12 to 20 February 2018. The final date for initial minimum payments (for students who do not qualify for the extended NSFAS grant, so that their registration can be finalised) is 20 February 2018.

For more information, please visit Unisa's registration website at www.unisa.ac.za/register

Qualifying students are also reminded to apply for the 2018 extended NSFAS grant by 20 February 2018. For more information, visit www.unisa.ac.za/ExtendedNSFAS2018

I have registered, but my registration is still pending. When will my registration be finalised?

We are aware that some students have submitted their 2018 registrations, but that their registrations are reflecting as "still in progress".

There have, unfortunately, been some delays in processing registrations due to protest action and the re-opening of applications for first-time registering students. We are, however, working hard to finalise the processing of all registrations, but most particularly first semester registrations. We hope to have this process completed by 20 February 2018.

My registration has not been finalised. Can I still access my study material?

While you wait for your registration to be finalised, you may access your study material via the "Download study material" link on Unisa's registration website.

I've missed some assignment due dates. What should I do?

Due to the late finalisation of registrations, some students may miss some assignment submission dates.

To ensure that every Unisa student has the opportunity to submit assignments, the closing date for all first semester assignments scheduled before 13 April 2018 has been changed to 13 April 2018. Unisa will therefore accept, mark and process your assignments until 13 April 2018 if you are unable to submit them by the published due dates. You are, however, encouraged to submit your assignments as soon as you can. This extension is applicable to all assignments that contribute to admission to examinations, but excludes assignments for the online signature modules, all practicals and modules in Social Auxiliary Work (HCert SAW).
