Update on student data provisioning: 8 August 2025

The University of South Africa (UNISA) would like to notify students and staff who are Vodacom subscribers that Vodacom erroneously provisioned data today 8 August 2025. They have confirmed it is a system glitch and it is corrected. 

We wish to remind all students and staff that the University will not be providing data for the months of August and September 2025. 

However, access to Wi-Fi in all our 26 centres countrywide continues. 

In the medium to long-term, the university will be instituting a sustainable digital access model to ensure access and success. This will assist to ameliorate exacting and increasing students’ debt. 

In the meantime, we encourage you to please kindly optimise spatial and digital access in all our 26 centres across the country to support continued studies. 

As a comprehensive distance education e-learning university, we remain committed to expanding access to education throughout our technology and digital infrastructure value chain.
