Second semester registration and related matters

The 2023 Semester 2 registration for undergraduate qualifications, honours degrees, postgraduate diplomas, MBA and MBL qualifications will close on Friday 28 July 2023 (semester modules only). The university urges all students who are yet to complete their registration to do so before or by the closing date.

To create an enabling environment for as many students as possible to complete their registration by the closing date, the university has also put in place some measures to assist in this regard. Some of these are as follows :

University staff directly contacting students

Designated staff from the university are currently making direct contact with the affected students (new and returning students) via telephone and/or SMS messages to urge and assist them to complete their registration as a matter of urgency. Students are advised to pick up the calls from numbers from Unisa and/or check and respond to the SMS messages. Registration-related enquiries can be directed to study-info@unisa.ac.za, enquire@unisa.ac.za or call us on 0800 00 1870.

Outstanding results hindering completion of registration

The university is aware that some students are unable to complete their registration as a result of outstanding results. Relevant university officials are working around the clock to ensure that the outstanding results from the May/June 2023 examinations are released as a matter of urgency. Around 3% of examination results remain outstanding. These are expected to be released before registration closes. Enquiries about examination results can be directed to exams@unisa.ac.za

Students with outstanding debt

The university has resolved to allow students with outstanding debt from the 2022 academic year, but who are left with a maximum of two modules to complete their qualification and to register upon completion and approval of an Acknowledgement of Debt (AOD) form. A similar arrangement will be extended to those who are still awaiting confirmation of funding from NSFAS, subject to the necessary terms and conditions. For further enquiries and to complete the AOD where applicable, students are advised to contact the university at enquire@unisa.ac.za
