Release of Jan/Feb 2022 examination results

Dear Unisa students

The January/February 2022 postgraduate and supplementary examination period has concluded. The below outlines pertinent matters that are brought to your attention to bring to finality of the examination period:

Non-usage of invigilation tools.

Our records indicate that there are students who failed to participate in the online invigilation of their January/February 2022 examinations. We have also noted that some students did not upload their invigilation results from the Invigilation App within the stipulated five days from the date of their examination. These students will be deemed not to have participated in online invigilation.

As we continue to assure examination integrity, the following will be implemented for those students who did not utilise the Invigilator App:

1. First time writing students in the January/February 2022 examination period will be granted another opportunity to rewrite in the May/June 2022 examination period.
2. Supplementary students will have their marks withheld and be required to reregister.

Student who did not participate in the IRIS proctoring will have their marks withheld and be required to reregister.  

Students who obtained permission during the examinations not to utilise the proctoring tools will be exempted. Students have an opportunity to appeal the above university's decision through completion of the Microsoft form. Click here (https://forms.office.com/r/PZeti8Y9Ex) to access the online form. Students are expected to attach proof of permission for their appeal to be considered.

Examination irregularities

As previously communicated, Unisa remains resolute in its zero-tolerance stance against cheating and plagiarism during online examinations. Students who have been identified through both these invigilation tools, and also through other measures, have been referred to the Disciplinary Office. Students who have received communication from the Disciplinary Office should await further communication from the Disciplinary Office. We advise students to re-register for their affected modules pending the outcome of the disciplinary process. Enquiries relating to disciplinary processes may be sent to Examscriptdiciplinary@unisa.ac.za.

Aegrotat applications

Students who were adversely affected by loadshedding and/or network challenges during their examinations were requested to apply for an aegrotat. Students who experienced the death of loved ones or illness during their examinations were also expected to apply for an aegrotat. Students are expected to submit aegrotat applications within 10 days of their scheduled examination sittings. Aegrotat applications are not considered after the release of marks. Students are advised to send all the examination-related enquiries to exams@unisa.ac.za.

Release of results

We continue to release results on a staggering basis.  We are however negatively affected by the impact of the ongoing labour strike on our operations. We foresee the majority of the results being released on 28^th March 2022.
