The strike by members of the National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union (NEHAWU), at Unisa has entered its third day.
University staff are unable to enter the campuses to work as a result of striking workers blocking access to the campuses. There is one exception, at the Durban Regional Office, where, for the moment, staff are able to access the campus, although only limited services are being rendered.
The university still urges stakeholders to continue conducting their business with the university on-line, where applicable.
Reports received by the university are that students wishing to enter campuses to prepare for their exams are still able to do so without much hindrance. Examinations at neutral venues, as well as those taking place at Unisa facilities; are also continuing unhindered.
The talks between university management and NEHAWU are continuing.
