Language modules in your B.ED degree

Dear Bachelor of Education (90102 & 90103) student

If your first year of registration was in 2019, the language requirement is three different languages in your B.Ed Foundation Phase or Intermediate Phase degree. One for Home Language (Level 1 and 2), one for First Additional Language (Level 1 and 2) and one for the second additional language (communicative competence). You cannot have one (the same) language for both Home Language and First Additional Language OR Home Language and Communicative Competence OR First Additional Language and Communicative Competence.

If you have three different languages as above, you will meet the language requirements of your degree.

PLEASE NOTE: This only applies to students who registered for the first time in 2019. Students who registered in 2020 to date must follow the language requirements as per their matric certificate. Please check your mylife email for additional information on how to correctly select the language modules in your qualification.
