You are invited to submit proposals for the naming of the Collaborative Library in East London.
During 2014, Unisa, together with the University of Fort Hare and the Walter Sisulu University, signed a memorandum of agreement to build and operate a Collaborative Library in East London. The Library comprises five levels (ground to fourth) and a basement parking. Unisa will occupy the second floor, the University of Fort Hare will take the first floor and the Walter Sisulu University will take the third floor. The rest of the floors will be shared.
The proposed name(s) must relate to the mandate of the region, namely, to provide academic student support services to Unisa students in the region and to participate in the development of the community.

The proposed name(s) should not be the names of individuals who are currently serving Unisa or politicians who are currently in service.
Stakeholders of the university (employees, students, alumni, donors, community members) and stakeholder structures of the university (Council, Senate, Management Committee, Convocation, Institutional Forum, Unisa Foundation Board of Trustees and the Students’ Representative Council) are hereby cordially invited to submit proposed names for the naming of the Collaborative Library in East London.
Proposals of the name(s) (including the motivation) can also be sent to the Acting Registrar, Prof QM Temane (registrar@unisa.ac.za) or delivered to the office of the Acting Registrar, Room B4-02, Theo van Wijk Building, Unisa, Pretoria.
Kindly note that no proposal can be accepted without the motivation for the proposed name(s) by the proposer.
The proposal of the name(s) with the motivation must reach the office of the Acting Registrar by close of business on 19 April 2018.
