Management of Unisa engaged with student structures on issues of concern flowing from the following issues:
After consultation and debate, a decision was taken to extend the examination period by two weeks. Examinations for those modules scheduled between 2 and 13 May 2017 will now be written after 9 June 2017. The examination dates for modules scheduled from 15 May 2017 will remain the same. More information will follow on the rescheduling of examinations.
We understand that this decision may inconvenience many students who were ready to write examinations and we do apologise for this. It was not an easy decision to take, but was unavoidable due to the current circumstances as described above and the logistical complexity of the examination administration processes. Our main concern is to ensure that as many of our students as possible are able to safely write their examinations with adequate time and resources.
We will reissue updated examination timetables as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely
