Over the past few months, Unisa has been committed to raising awareness about the completion of the newly launched compulsory Academic Integrity Course. At its core, this course is designed to advance values such as discipline, fairness, honesty and commitment, which are important to your success as a student and your future as a professional.
However, despite repeated reminders, communication campaigns and proactive initiatives, we have observed with concern, students delaying the completion of the course until the final days leading up to 30 March 2025. This resulted in unprecedented pressure on our systems, which became non-responsive on 29 March and 30 March 2025.
The Management Committee has approved staggered completion dates to prevent further disruptions. The extended due dates for completing the compulsory Academic Integrity Course are allocated according to course group sites. Access to the course sites will be restricted and only made available to the specific groups scheduled for that particular week. Students in groups not allocated to a given week will not have access to their course sites during that time.

The University views matters of academic integrity very seriously. Students who fail to complete the course by their revised due date will receive an official warning letter, which will remain part of their academic record. Unisa reserves its rights to enforce provision 17.5 of the Unisa Student Rules, which states:
"Students who do not complete the course within the specified timeframe may face academic consequences, potentially including restrictions on academic progression or registration for subsequent modules."
Unisa maintains its zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of academic misconduct. Students are therefore urged to plan accordingly and complete the compulsory Academic Integrity Course within their allocated timeframe. It is strongly recommended that students do not wait until the final due date to complete the course. No further extensions will be granted.
