Announcement of SRC election dates

The Council-approved Electoral Policy for the Student Representative Council (SRC) stipulates that the Dean of Students will announce the SRC election dates after consultation with the National SRC President.

The Dean of Students consulted the NSRC President. Consequently, the Dean announces that Unisa SRC elections previously scheduled to start on 14 December 2020 will now be held from 11 to 18 February 2021.

An Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) and Independent Electoral Tribunal have been appointed to oversee the election.

The Dean of Students wishes to encourage all eligible students to participate fully in the SRC election to ensure a successful appointment of a new SRC whose legitimacy is beyond reproach.
