Academic exclusion rules on the grounds of poor academic performance

In terms of the academic exclusion rules on the grounds of poor academic performance:

  1. A student must in the first academic year of registration pass at least 36 credits (students in the alternate pathway must pass at least 24 credits in the first year); and
  2. A student in the second and subsequent years of study must pass at least 48 credits per year (ie in two consecutive semesters).

The abovementioned rules are applicable to all undergraduate students, irrespective of the year in which they registered for a formal qualification at Unisa. All students must further comply with the maximum period in which the qualification must be completed.

If you were inadvertently phased out and you obtained the required credits in the 2018 academic year according to the prescribed credits and the level of studies, please let us know by contacting the university before close of business on 6 February 2019. Kindly use the following e-mail address: Masems@unisa.ac.za

Note that the applications which do not meet the set criteria will not be considered. Secondly, this is not an extension for the appeals for readmission.
