2023 SRC election date announced

In accordance with the Council-approved Electoral Policy for a Student Representative Council, the Dean of Students announces the date and the commencement of the SRC election processes, in consultation with the SRC President.

In the absence of the Dean of Student, the Registrar, Prof Steward Mothata, consulted the NSRC president on 29 July 2022 on the proposed date for the 2023 SRC elections.

We hereby announce that the Unisa 2023 SRC electoral process will commence on 1 August 2022, with students going to the polls from 29 to 31 March 2023.

An Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) and Independent Electoral Tribunal will be appointed to oversee the election. Further details will be announced in due course.

We wish to encourage all students to participate fully in the SRC election to ensure the successful appointment of a new SRC whose legitimacy will be beyond reproach.
