Dr Ngepathimo Kadhila is a Quality Assurance Director at the University of Namibia. He has more than 15 years of experience in higher education quality assurance. He holds a Bachelor of Education and Master of Education (Curriculum, Instructional and Assessment Studies) from the University of Namibia; Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education (for Academic Developers) from Rhodes University in South Africa; and PhD in Higher Education Studies (with the focus on Quality Assurance) from the University of the Free State in South Africa. Dr Kadhila has extensively engaged with higher education management, curriculum development, industry collaboration, work integrated learning, entrepreneurship, teaching and learning, assessment, academic development, and research processes in higher education. He has in-depth knowledge of and critical perspectives on policy developments and implementation of quality systems in higher education across the globe. He has proven engagements with, and steered, advised and supported registration of qualifications on the national qualifications framework (NQF), accreditation by quality assurance agencies and professional body, quality audits/reviews and curriculum/academic programme development, implementation, and monitoring and review. His contributions to the field of higher education are not only limited to his institutional roles but extend globally, with his in-depth knowledge and critical perspectives on current policy developments and the implementation of quality systems in higher education across different continents. Furthermore, he has undertaken various consultancies and projects in the area of quality assurance at national, regional (i.e., SADC), and international levels. His international involvement includes serving as a quality reviewer at an international level, participating in reviews conducted by the Quality Assurance Agency in Higher Education (QAA), a UK-based agency that conducts international accreditation. This exposure has provided him with a broad perspective on global quality assurance standards and practices. He has a distinguished record of publications in peer reviewed journals. His research work lies in the areas of academic development, curriculum development, teaching and learning in higher education, assessment in higher education, and higher education quality assurance.
