Three Minute Thesis
The average thesis has 204 pages with 80,000 – 100,000 words. This can be summarised and presented in 3 minutes with just one static PowerPoint slide during the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition.
The College of Graduate Studies (SIRGS) acknowledges and appreciates the research conducted by PhD students in various colleges/schools of UNISA. These students are therefore, requested to submit abstracts of their completed thesis for entry to the institutional 3MT. The winner and runner-up of the institutional 3MT will then be entered to the national competition which will be hosted in South Africa by the University of the Free State in October 2025.
Entries are opened and will close on 31 July 2025.
