Dr. Arnold Tapera Kanengoni is a Senior Lecturer in Ethology at the University of Pretoria, where he brings over twenty years of experience in veterinary science and animal research. He holds a PhD in Animal Science from the University of Stellenbosch, where his research focused on proteomic and microbiome profiling in pigs subjected to high-fiber diets, complementing his Master of Science and Bachelor of Veterinary Science degrees obtained from the University of Zimbabwe. Dr. Kanengoni's professional background includes prominent roles as the Manager of Veterinary Services and Research at Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo, as well as Senior Researcher in Monogastric Nutrition at the Agricultural Research Council. He has successfully supervised the completion of 15 postgraduate students and has authored 39 peer-reviewed publications. His areas of expertise encompass applied ethology, zoo animal medicine, animal nutrition, and research methodology. In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Kanengoni actively participates in various professional committees and is a registered member of both the South African Veterinary Association and the Veterinary Council. Outside of his scholarly activities, he has a passion for chess, sports, and reading.
