Catherine Mkude is the director of the Institute of Educational and Management Technologies. At the Institute, she oversees development and management of information systems, ICT infrastructure and adoption of e-learning solutions. Catherine is also a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and ICT. She lectures and supervises under- and postgraduate students.

As the director, Catherine supervises the eLearning unit, which develops, integrates and deploys eLearning solutions for University staff and students. She is responsible for overseeing adoption and sustainability of the solutions, since eLearning is the core mode of delivery at the University.

Catherine received doctorate degree in E-Government with specialisation in strategic planning and implementation from Koblenz University in Germany. She has taken part in several projects including eGovPoliNet - Building a global multidisciplinary digital governance and policy modelling research and practice community, project of the European Commission in 2015; Knowledge Sharing Programme (KSP) between the Government of Tanzania, through the e-Government Agency, and the Republic of Korea in 2019; Development of the Data Categorization and Sharing Framework that takes into account data sharing, privacy and security, project of the African Union (AU) in 2022.
