Terms and Conditions
- Safety and health come first, and our rules promote safety. Walking, running, cycling, swimming or engaging in any form of activity towards a virtual finish line can be strenuous. You also are required to understand the risks and hazards associated with participating in the race.
- Do not enter this virtual race and in the related activities, unless you are medically able, fit and trained to do so.
- We advise you to take the best care when participating in the race. Please take into consideration the conditions in which you will be participating, such as the effects of the weather, traffic volumes, road conditions, and environmental safety, including other risks known to you.
- We advise you not to use headphones or strollers while running or walking as a precautionary measure.
- Parents are to take care of the participation of their children, including their safety in the virtual race.
- Please be advised that you enter this race at your own risk, and you are to fully indemnify Unisa, sponsors of the race and partners from all direct or indirect claims or liabilities of any kind arising from your participation in the virtual race.
- You agree to indemnify Unisa, sponsors of the race and partners from or against any loss, death, injury, damage, cost or expense. These include fines on breaching of regulations relating to government, sporting codes or bodies and your local facility conditions that might arise from participating in the race.
- According to the Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Act 4 of 2013 of South Africa, Unisa will not share your personal information with third parties. Your personal information will be stored and held in the strictest, most secure and confidential manner.
- Only your experiences and photos that you submit to us or post will be used on Unisa social media platforms to promote the campaign.
