Professor Peter Akampa Neema-Abooki is an esteemed scholar in Higher Educational Management, Business and Human Resource Education, and Educational Policy and Planning. A founding dean of the East African School of Higher Education Studies and Development (EASHESD) at Makerere University, he has held leadership roles across multiple universities, including Uganda Technology and Management University and Victoria University.
With over 25 years of experience in higher education, Prof. Neema-Abooki has served as an external examiner, keynote speaker, and QA reviewer at international academic fora. His research centers on quality assurance and leadership in African higher education, with a portfolio of edited volumes published by Routledge (2022 and 2023), Palgrave Macmillan (2024), and Brill (2025 and the next edited book due for publication in 2026). He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Progressive and Alternative Education. a co-editor of Innovating Higher Education and has rendered editorial services at the Ali Mazrui Centre for Higher Education Studies, University of Johannesburg (UJ).
He is currently a Research Associate at the University of Johannesburg, an Academic Associate at UNISA, and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Namibia. His influential work continues to shape educational policy, leadership, and reform across the continent.
