Dr. Refiloe Mabaso is an esteemed and highly respected expert in the field of Information and Knowledge Management in South Africa. Her dedication and commitment to excellence have earned her widespread recognition. With a PhD in Information Science from the prestigious University of South Africa (UNISA), Dr. Refiloe has demonstrated a strong emphasis on continuous learning and professional development throughout her career.

Dr. Refiloe has an impressive track record of leadership roles, each of which has made a significant impact. During her professional career, she gained experience in a wide range of sectors and industries. This includes her work in the aviation sector, where she played a key role in introducing and executing strategies to enhance information and knowledge management capabilities within the Air Traffic and Navigations Services.

Dr Mabaso has served as the Chairperson of the National Library of South Africa (NLSA), Chairperson of Knowledge Management South Africa (KMSA), and Council Member of the National Heritage Council (NHC). She is currently a Chairperson of Kitso Lesedi Community Development, a member of the Knowledge Management Global Network (KMGN), Chairperson of the Committee on Data of the International Science Council (CODATA), and Director of the Institute of Information Management South African (IIMSA).
