Short biography

Prof David Mbati Mello holds a DAdmin Degree from the University of Pretoria and is currently an area leader for the Study of Government Affairs at the Thabo Mbeki African School of Public and International Affairs. Prior to joining the School, Professor Mello was a Research Director at North-West University at the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences and was Head of the Department of Public Management at Tshwane University of Technology. His research interests are in performance management, monitoring and evaluation, and ethics. Prof Mello is a member of the South African Association of Public Administration and Management (SAAPAM) and serves on the Editorial Committee of the Journal of Public Administration. Prof Mello has served as a member of the North-West Provincial Government Research Advisory Committee and as an Adjudicator for the National Batho Pele Excellence Awards for four consecutive years. Prof Mello is a C3-rated researcher with the National Research Foundation.
