Vongani Muhluri Nkuna holds a Doctorate degree in International Politics from the University of Limpopo (UL). Nkuna currently holds the position of postdoctoral fellow at the Thabo Mbeki African School of Public and International Affairs, University of South Africa (UNISA). Nkuna has an extensive publication record in the field of South African foreign policy perspectives, specifically focusing on research pertaining to BRICS studies (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) and Russia-Africa ties.
Nkuna has participated in various national and international conferences, including the Human Science Research Council (HRSC) Africa Young Graduates and Scholars (AYGS) Conference in 2018 and the BRICS International School in 2020. Nkuna manages a network that includes esteemed academic organisations such as the South African Association of Political Studies (SAAPS) and the South African Association of Public Administration and Management (SAAPAM). Nkuna currently serves as a reviewer for academic journal such as the Journal of African Foreign Affairs (JoAFA) and the prominent publisher University of Johannesburg (UJ) Press.
