The UNISA BCompt Society (UBS) was established in 2005 with the aim of nurturing the credibility of UNISA BCompt students and overcoming the adversities of studying through a distance learning institution.
The society is a non-political organization and functions within the scope of the College of Economics and Management Sciences. UBS focuses mainly on, but not exclusively to, BCompt students and includes those studying towards either a BCom in Accounting, Bachelor of Accountancy or BCom Financial Management degree leading to a qualification as a CA(SA).
UBS also acts as an intermediary between students and the dynamic corporate environment.
The members, as well as then founders, comprise of BCompt undergraduate students and those who have successfully completed their junior degree, with the common vision of becoming Chartered Accountants and prominent business individuals.
