In accordance with section 2.1 of the Council-approved Electoral Policy for a Student Representative Council, the Dean of Students announces the date and the commencement of the SRC Election processes, in consultation with the SRC President.
I therefore, hereby announce that the Unisa 2018 SRC Elections will take place during the first week of August 2018. Further details in respect of the voting dates and other logistical arrangements will be announced in due course, following the appointment of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) and other structures which are necessary for the efficient delivery of the SRC Elections.
The processes for the SRC Elections will thenceforth begin in earnest.
We wish to encourage all students to fully participate in the SRC Elections which serve as a critical vehicle for the advancement of democracy and through which the wishes and aspirations of our students can be realized.
