Dr Matodzi Raphalalani is the Senior lecturer at the University of Venda. She has been an employee of the University of Venda for 28 years and was initially attached to Tshivenda in the Department of African Languages, she recently joined the Department of Indigenous Knowledge System and Heritage Studies department. In the past, she has served as a member of the Limpopo Provincial Language Committee and as a council member of the Freedom Park Heritage Site and Museum. Currently, Dr Raphalalani teaches Tshivenḓa. She was also one of the founders of the introduction of the teaching of Tshivenda and Xitsonga in Zimbabwe. Dr Raphalalani is passionate about the development of African languages, and its use as a medium of instruction from early childhood to tertiary level and in the working environment. Through her passion, she continues to serve as a supervisor for Master's and Doctoral studies.
