Global trends in the future of work
What do international trends tell us about the skills needed for the future of work?
Chi Sum Tse is an Advisor in the Office of the Director for Education and Skills at the OECD. He also contributes to the development of PISA-VET, an international initiative that aims to measure the competencies of vocational education and training students.
Previously, he worked on several projects within the OECD Directorate for Education and Skills, including PISA, PISA for Schools, and AI and the Future of Skills, which benchmarked AI capabilities against human skills. Across these roles, he has supported educators and policymakers in using data and evidence to inform decision-making, while contributing to the development of large-scale assessments through his expertise in assessment methodology. His current research focuses on the use of artificial intelligence in large-scale assessments, particularly for coding open-ended responses and providing formative feedback.
Before joining the OECD, Chi Sum worked in international development with NGOs in Peru and Argentina. He also served on the board of CCFD–Terre Solidaire in France.
Chi Sum holds an MSc in Educational Assessment from the University of Oxford and an MA in International Development from Sciences Po Paris. He also completed graduate-level studies on Mercosur at the University of Buenos Aires.
