Agile new CFO determined to shape futures

Unisa’s Principal and Vice-Chancellor (VC), Professor Puleng LenkaBula, was delighted to welcome Khathutshelo (Khathu) Ramukumba as he started a new chapter as Unisa’s Chief Financial Officer on 01 February 2021.

On his arrival at the Unisa Muckleneuk Campus, Ramukumba was received and greeted by the VC and the management of the institution’s Finance Department before heading to the VC’s office for a meeting.

The VC describes Ramukumba as a talented individual. “I have no doubt that he is going to facilitate agility and new thinking around what we have to do as a university,” she says.

Ramukumba was admitted as a chartered accountant by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2010. His previous leadership positions include being the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Development Agency. He is excited about joining Unisa and the prospect of being involved in shaping the futures of young African people.

“I look forward to contributing to Unisa through prudent financial management, as well as innovative ways to drive third-stream revenue so that we can be able to provide quality education to young South Africans,” he says.
