Electrical Engineering

The establishment of Research Groups in the department of Electrical and Mining Engineering has been identified as one of the interventions to initiate research activities in the department.  The department thus, established the research group(s) as vehicles through which research activities are conducted. The research groups were established in April 2010.

Rationale and Motivation

The rationale for establishing Research Groups in the department of Electrical & Mining Engineering was for the research group to spearhead research activities both at the department and the School of Engineering. The research group activities would include training postgraduate students for skills development and increased research outputs from the department.

The department is in discussion with external institutions for possible research collaboration and staff/student exchange.
