Mr Sydney Podile
The Department is proud to announce that Mr Sydney Podile, one of the administrators in the Department of Statistics at Unisa, has bagged one more qualification. On Monday 6th May 2024 during the graduation ceremony held at ZK Matthews Great Hall, Winnie Madikizela Mandela building, Mr Podile was conferred with the Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration. During the ceremony, the university also conferred the degree Doctor of Philosophy in Education (Honoris Causa) on Prof George Sefa Dei, in recognition of the national and international impact of his scholarly pursuits, even beyond the realm of academia, and his lifelong quest for answers to global educational challenges.

Reflecting on my postgraduate diploma in business administration journey, I feel compelled to share the valuable lessons, obstacles overcome, and unwavering support received. Balancing higher education with professional responsibilities presented challenges, from demanding coursework to time constraints. However, the support from family and colleagues was invaluable, making the journey enriching. Working alongside academic staff and witnessing student successes fuelled my motivation. I am grateful for the financial support from UNISA and for the academic and administrative support from the staff at UNISA SBL throughout the program, which enabled me to pursue this diploma.
