UWF, CSET reach out on #MandelaDay2019

For #MandelaDay2019, the Unisa Women’s Forum (UWF) and the College of Science, Engineering and Technology (CSET) contributed 67 minutes towards refurbishing old desks to donate to a school in Eikenhof, Johannesburg.

The fully active participation by women in the ‘woodworks’ demonstrated that this campaign continues to promote gender equality in the workplace. In a further celebration of women’s empowerment, dignity packs collected by the UWF were also donated to senior girls at the Lethithemba Combined School.

Leading by example was Lele Matafeni, Secretary-General: Unisa Women's Forum

This year tribute was paid to strong women and those who continue to fight for dignity, human rights and the eradication of gender-based violence.

In honour of the great man, Nelson Mandela International Day is celebrated each year on 18 July, Madiba's birthday. The day was officially declared by the United Nations in November 2009.

The day was a true celebration of women’s unity and pride

Forward with women’s empowerment!

Wathint’abafazi! Wathint’imbokodo!
