Johan worked in various capacities in the South African Police Service for fifteen years, including in crime prevention and crime investigation units. He resigned as a Captain with a collection of commendations to his name. He lectured in management subjects at the training academy for police officers in the Western Cape in his last post. On joining the Department of Police Practice of the then Technikon SA he lectured in management and later became an Academic Operational Manager in the same department for twelve years.  Johan is currently busy with his Master of Public Administration at the University of Pretoria. He serves on the College of Law’s Marketing Committee.
