Short Biography
Dr. Siphamandla Mncube is a lecturer at the University of South Africa which is known as open distance e-learning (ODeL) University in the country. He joined this institution 10 years back as a junior lecturer in the College of Human Sciences under the Department of Information Sciences. Dr. Mncube’s experience in this institution framed his academic journey and shaped his research niche areas. Alongside ICT, and being in this mega institution which is often advocating for the adoption of ICT and open educational resources for tuition and research provision. This has made him focus on his four research niches: Appropriation of Open educational resources (OER); Web technologies for virtual learning, Domestication of ICT; and Open distance learning research. This is elicited from the fact that all these IT artefacts are used in an ODeL institution and are in line with the multidiscipline fields such as Information Sciences, Information Systems, and a general broad spectrum of Information Technology.
