Kabelo Given Chuma is a lecturer in the Department of Information Science at the University of South Africa, where he has been since 2017. From 2017-2018 he served as a Research Associate in the Department of Information Science. From 2018 – 2020 he was appointed for the position of a Junior lecturer on a contract base. In July 2021, he was permanently appointed as a Lecturer in the Department of Information Science. He received his Masters degree in Information Science with an emphasis on the security of electronic patient’s health data. He is currently pursuing a Ph. D degree in Information Science at the University of South Africa. Kabelo teaches several modules on Applied Information Science (AIS), Information Science (INS) and Archives and Records Management (ARM). Mr Chuma is committed to providing his students with the highest possible quality education. He is rigorously focus on his classroom, curriculum, academics, and other aspects of his students’ education. He is intending to make significant contributions through teaching in the future, taking into account accomplishments and contributions beyond the classroom. Moreover, he is aiming to contribute to Work-Integrated Learning, education and research as well as to work in a collaborative and supportive environment. His research interests lie in research and development in the areas of Big Data and Analytics, Data Cybersecurity, Records Management, Information Security, Health Information Security, Data and Network Security, Health Information Governance, Mobile Security and Internet Bank Security, Data governance and e-government. He also supervises projects in Information Science, Archives and Records Management and Information Security.
