Dr.  Matshotshwane is a young Ph.D. holder in Information Science interested in citizen archives, decolonization/Africanisation of archives, oral history, inclusive archives and sports archives. Dr. Matshotshwane also holds a Master's in Information Science and lectures at the University of South Africa (UNISA), specializing in Managing Archives (ARM1503) and Developing and Collecting Information resources modules (AIS2605). Joseph is a journal reviewer of the South African Journal of Library and Information Science and reviews master’s proposals at the departmental level. Joseph has also presented a paper at the Oral History Association of South Africa (OHASA) annual conference and the South African Society of Archives (SASA) (2021).
