African Safety Promotion: A Journal of Injury and Violence Prevention (ASP) promotes multidisciplinary research and serves as a forum for discussion and critical debate among researchers, academics, policy-makers and practitioners active in the field of injury prevention and safety promotion in Africa.
ASP is registered as an Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) with Thomson Reuters Web of Science Core Collection platform and is also an accredited South African Post-Secondary Education (SAPSE) journal. The journal is published biannually, featuring original full-length contributions, theoretical papers and reviews. All articles in the journal, which ISHS and VIPRU administer, are subject to double blind peer review.
The journal covers a wide range of subjects centering on injury, violence and safety promotion, including critical social perspectives to injury and violence prevention; injury surveillance studies; epidemiological research; risk and resilience studies associated with violence and injuries; best practices for injury prevention and containment, and safety and peace promotion.
