Purpose: The purpose of the learning is to empower learners with the competencies (knowledge, values and skills) to be entrepreneurial within different levels of management in either their own businesses or in a corporate environment. This unit standard will be useful to learners who want to develop and manage their own entrepreneurial business enterprise; and / or a section of a department in an existing business / or share expert knowledge. Successful learners would be able to act as change agents ensuring that business entities not only have the competitive edge through new products, services and processes, but lead to companies being more effective and efficient. Entrepreneurial businesses will contribute towards employee satisfaction and retention. They will discover the competencies necessary for sound managerial, governance and entrepreneurial practices. Their newly acquired competencies should increase the odds that their small business organisation will continue from generation to generation, contributing to job creation, personal fulfillment and economic wealth.
