Industrial Experience

  • Worked as an Electronic Technician and Technologist at Dorbyl Heavy Engineering. Main responsibilities included Electronic and Electrical maintenance in the machine shop, foundry and roll shop. Maintenance duties involved fault diagnosis on computer numerical control machines, variable speed drives as well as programmable logic controllers. Systems included Siemens, Saftronics, Berthiez and various others. Undertook design work on equipment improvement projects, repaired printed circuit boards and installed point-to-point monitory systems. Completed major installations of PLC equipment and special engineering projects.
