2017 CSET ODL Conference - "Converging to quality"

Welcome to the fourth biennial Open Distance Learning conference for Science, Engineering and Technology subjects, hosted by the CSET College at UNISA, which will be held at Irene Country Lodge,  Centurion, Pretoria on 14th and 15th September 2017.

The purpose of the conference is to contribute to the knowledge on open, distance and blended learning of Science, Engineering, and Technology disciplines. We invite practitioners and researchers in the fields of ODL, e-learning and blended learning in the domain of Science, Engineering or Technology to attend and present at the conference, to share and discuss research, ideas and findings, and to form collaborations.

The conference will feature keynote lectures and research presentations, in plenary and parallel sessions.


The conference will be organised around the following tracks:

  • Academic student support     
  • Blended learning
  • Changing role of academics in ODL  
  • Innovative assessment in ODL
  • Research designs and methodologies
  • Technology-enhanced learning 
  • Innovations


Research paper presentations are invited in these tracks. Proposals for presentations should be submitted as extended abstracts (1000 words).  All submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed, and if accepted, will be published in the conference programme.
