Other

Joey has lectured in Police Administration, Police Management and Policing at the former Technikon SA since 1990. She resigned from the South African Police Service as a lieutenant after thirteen years of service.   She is a member of the Institute of People Management (IPM), the South African Association of Public Administration and Management (SAAPAM), a member of the board of the Criminological and Victimological Association of Southern Africa (CRIMSA) and a Chartered HR practitioner of the South African Board for Personnel Practice (SABPP). 

She serves on the College of Law’s Recreation and Welfare Committee. Joey has presented at conferences and published in books, including the Focus on Management Principles: A Generic Approach (Juta) and Smart Policing (New African Education).  She was involved with the training of students in Swaziland, Sudan and tutors in Ethiopia.
