Prof Kitty Dumont

Kitty Dumont is Professor in the School of Interdisciplinary Research at the Unisa College of Graduate Studies where she established the Social Change Research Lab. She is a qualified psychologist and gained her academic qualifications at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena (Germany).

Since completion of her PhD in 1999, Kitty has worked as a researcher and lecturer in social psychology and research methods at German, Austrian and South African universities. Past and current research covers the relationships between social groups, social identities, cognitive representations of social categories, intergroup emotions, and intergroup behaviour in social change situations in general and within the societal context of South Africa in particular.
