Student Representative Council (SRC)

Sports and Cultural Officer

Mpho Moses Morolane

Mpho is pursuing an LLB degree. He comes to the SRC with wide-ranging experience in student activism within and outside Unisa. These include, among others, participating in the Black Lawyers Association Student Chapter and a number of voluntary initiatives including the Concerned Student Forum, which organised advocacy forums to request Unisa management to create contingency responses to the plight of poor students whose studies could have curtailed by the announcement from NSFAS that funds were depleted in 2013.

“This is a responsibility I accept with humility and commitment,” says Mpho, “and I pledge to represent the student voice and concerns beyond the delimited scope as per the governance mandate of SRC required by the Higher Education Act and Unisa statutes.”
