Registrar: Academic, Enrolments and Administration

The University Registrar is responsible for student administration and institutional governance.

The Registrar is the official secretary of the University Senate and Council, and the Registrar’s Office takes functional responsibility for the administration of all official Committees. There is an additional duty that is linked to the Unisa Registrar’s Office which is the Music Directorate.
The Registrar’s Office may, quite appropriately, be described as the axis upon which a University turns.

At Unisa, these functions include: Student admissions and registrations, Student assessment administration, Graduation & Records Management.
In performing his functions, the Registrar at Unisa is assisted by the Deputy Registrar
