| Admission requirements: | National Diploma: Engineering (S4) in the relevant discipline OR National Higher Diploma in Chemical Engineering (T4), PLUS the following bridging subjects: Process Control III (PCT381H), which is the prerequisite for PCT401C; National Diploma: Chemical Engineering (T3 diploma: 3 semesters UoT training plus 3 semesters' in-service training) PLUS the following 4 bridging units: Process Control III (PCT381H); Chemical Engineering Technology III (Module B) (CEM321B and CEM3PRB); Thermodynamics: Chemical Engineering III (TDC341P); Chemical Process Design: Principles III (CPD371S); Foreign Chemical Engineering qualifications are considered but subject to SAQA evaluation and departmental approval. |
| Rules: | Important: A student may only register for the BTech: Engineering: Chemical (Environmental) if he or she : a) can identify and complete a research project for CEE4701 (CEE401C), b) the project (CEE401C/CEE4701) must be related to water treatment or solid waste treatment or air quality control, c) has access to a computer simulation design programme/package for CPD4702 (CPD4M2C), such as ASPEN, CHEMCAD, PROII, etc. and d) can provide a mentor for each of the above study units respectively. It is the responsibility of the student to find it elsewhere. |
