| Admission requirements: | An appropriate Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma with an average of 60% or more in either qualification. A student, who does not have an average of 60% or more, may make a submission to the relevant College to allow such a student admission. Students must provide a written motivation of not more than three pages requesting admission to the college. The college will take into account the relevant experience, work or otherwise, of the student, the language capabilities of the student any other factor deemed necessary by the college. |
| Rules: | As part of the Admission requirements a student should have completed 2 school subjects at least up to 2nd year level and 2 official languages on 1st year level. Postgraduate students who do not fulfill the necessary language requirements are allowed to register for the language modules for non-degree purposes NDP. Students may do the following language modules: LPENGTS : English and /or LPAFRT8 : Afrikaans. The University may additionally request a South African Department of Higher Education and Training evaluation from the student in order to further verify admission. A student who has successfully completed this qualification will be able to teach from Grade 4 to 9. This qualification comprise two specialisation directions, namely Intermediate and Senior Phase. Teaching Practice is a compulsory component in this programme and must be taken according to specific criteria. Registration for this program is only possible if the compulsory 10 week practical work can be done in South Africa. Students in SADC countries may do their practical in those countries. A DSAR05 declaration form must be completed by all students prior to registering. |
