CBURESX - Business Research

Purpose: The purpose of this course is for BCom Honours students to acquire practical skills in conducting business research. It provides the foundation for conducting academic research beyond honours level and to guide students in their role as existing or potential managers to apply and evaluate research in such a manner that it could benefit the business in terms of generating business intelligence (information) in support of the optimum functioning of various business units. In this regard the purpose of the learning is to provide practical research competencies to business managers in respect of short-, medium- and long-term planning. In following this course, students will develop skills to conduct and evaluate business research independently. Students will be able to design a research proposal, manage and administrate a research project and analyse, interpret and present and evaluate research findings.
