Unisa online - Chance 2 Advance visits the Eastern Cape

Community conversations with members from Lusikisiki and Flagstaff in the Eastern Cape

The communities of Lusikisiki and Flagstaff in the Eastern Cape were the latest beneficiaries of the Chance 2 Advance programme. From 22 to 23 May 2012, a workshop entitled “Community Conversations” encouraged rich and robust dialogue with a wide representation of stakeholders from community chiefs to NGO staff.

Over 450 people were in attendance and special provision was made for people with disabilities to be part of the proceedings. In addition to encouraging community action, the programme facilitated the identification of the unique learning needs of the area. This information will serve as the basis for a full scale Chance 2 Advance learning intervention for participating communities in the Eastern Cape.

The Chance 2 Advance programme is a strategic community learning project in the Office of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor. Click here to visit the Chance 2 Advance website. Like us on Facebook: Chance 2 Advance.
