Unisa online - Harp trio gives 'death by chocolate' performance![]() The ensemble consists of Miroslav Chakaryan (violin), Ventura Rosenthal (harp) and Susan Mouton (cello) The Johannesburg Harp Trio performed at the Promusica Theatre just across the road from the Unisa Florida Campus on Friday 11 May 2012. The ensemble consists of Miroslav Chakaryan (violin), Susan Mouton (cello) and Ventura Rosenthal (harp). The audience were treated to works from the romantic period not often heard on South African concert stages. This combination of instruments was described by Miroslav as “death by chocolate” – the sweetness of the violin combined with the richness of the cello and the harp. This was the first lunch hour concert presented by the Unisa Music Foundation in Roodepoort. Talking to the audience members afterwards, it was clear that there was a keen interest in these kinds of concerts, especially from the retired community who are uncomfortable attending evening concerts or can’t afford to pay for tickets. The Unisa Music Foundation will investigate the possibilities of presenting more free lunch hour concerts at this venue in the future. Other Unisa online News | Latest | Archive |
