Unisa online - Use your cellphone to vote in Unisa's upcoming SRC elections

We need you! We need you to vote in the upcoming Unisa Student Representative Council (SRC) elections which will take place from Monday 26 September 2011 to Friday 7 October 2011.

And for the first time at Unisa,you will be able to vote either electronically (via a cellphone or computer connected to a network) or in person for the new SRC. Unisa is one of the first universities in South Africa to offer an electronic voting system for an SRC election,and it is a secure and convenient way to cast your vote.

So what do you need to do? Simply update your cellphone number on myUnisa before you vote.

If you have not yet joined myUnisa,click here to join.

If you have already joined myUnisa,follow these steps to verify your cellphone number:

1. Begin by entering your student number/user id and password at the top-right-hand corner of the page.
2. Next,click on the “My Admin”tab.
3. Finally,click on the “Biographical Details”link on the left-hand side of the page and update your cellphone number in the relevant section.
4. Now click “Update”at the bottom of the page.

Once you have updated your cellphone number,Unisa will then send you a randomly generated,secure one-time PIN,which you will need to use to vote electronically in the SRC election. Remember that your PIN is only valid for one vote,so don’t share it with anyone.

What if you’re unable to cast your vote electronically? Simply visit a Unisa regional office with your student card to cast your vote.
